When I press the star on iTunes Radio when listening to a song, it won't let me press 'play more like this' or 'never play this song' it only lets me press 'add to itunes wish list'

Yeah, it's a little behind the times. You can tap the circled "i" at the top of the Now Playing screen and choose New Station from Song or Artist, but I don't see a way to downvote a song or infuse a station with a song or artist.
Okay, retracting that. Obviously, I'm new to iTunes Radio. I hadn't actually tapped the star button before because I was under the impression it only added the current song to a wishlist. But now that I've actually gone and tapped it, I see those exact options you mentioned missing. Don't mind me. Buggering off.
Ok what I found was if Apple predefined radios are being played e.g. "Top 100 alternatives" then the black star has greyed out options (maybe there are set of songs predefined that keeps playing no matter what). However if you create your own station and click the black star the options are not greyed out anymore, the star turns salmon red when you like the song :-) TRY IT OUT
