I have just downloaded ox lion for my Mac which is only 2 years ish old as it couldn't support safari/fire fox etc without it. Now I still can't download safari...any ideas??

I have just downloaded ox lion for mac which I bought brand new about 2 years ago, safari was no longer available on my mac for some reason so I had to update it but now I have just updated it (and restarted the computer) it still won't download! Any one know what to do??? I need java for work stuff and codec so need 64 bit browser...thanks
