My iPhone 5S fingerprint system is working perfectly for unlocking the phone, but I never get asked to scan fingerprint in teh App Store. I only get a window to enter my password. The "iTunes & App Store" setting in Fingerprints is enabled, and I have IOS 7.0.1 which I believe was supposed to address this issue. Anyone else having this problem, or can anone help me please?

When prompted for your password, use the scanner instead. The dialog does not mention using the fingerprint scanner but you should be able to.
No - this does not work - have tried this many times. When I watch videos of people getting prmpted to use fingerprints to authenticate an App Store purchase, they het a window with a picture of a fngerprint. I just get a window asking for teh password.
OK - I can report that the fingerprint prompt works in App Store only when Restrictions are turned OFF, but does not work with Restrictiosn turned ON. And that is with IOS 7.0.1. A bug?
Ah okay, I just tried to download an app myself, and was prompted for the password. However, once I entered the password, I then exited the App Store, and the next time I tried to download an app, it asked my to scan my fingerprint. So maybe the password is required for the first time.

Well on my phone I installed 7.0.1 (supposed to make the fingerprint work with app store and itunes store) Still does not work for me. I have the settings/general/restrictions set to off as mentioned turned to off. Sensor works just fine for unlocking phone so not sure what gives here.

Ok weird today it worked for first time, but since a new device it wanted to verify my credit card again so it also required me to type in password but it actually asked for fingerprint and used it first time but then did the card verifciation. Maybe it is working now, and was issue with app store servers and such? Too many new 5s's accessing? who knows. Time will tell.

yes I was last night after I did the 7.0.1 update that was supposed to make this work. But I could never get it to ask for my fingerprint. Today was first time but then it said oh new device need to verify my agreement and credit card security number. So must now be storing that info for use with my fingerprint next time I am hoping...
am downloading app now when done will try again with another app and let you know if things are working now.

Ok happy to report, quit all apps, reentered app store, picked a free app and it asked for my fingerprint scan and it worked right away. So I wonder why not last night? Servers? I had all the settings we talked about set or off as in case. Well anyway works now.

I was having the same issue. Fixed by putting in the security code for the credit card attached to iTunes account under Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID > View Apple ID > Payment Information > Security Code. The security code is not automatically filled out when transferring data from an iCloud backup.

Worked for me after I put my credit card security code in again after about a week of wondering why it wasn't working for me. I surprise that's why we have google...
Hi, been having same issue tried all advice offered no joy so I backed up to icloud went connected to itunes on my desktop n reinstalled software, I think it was IOS 7.0.3, set it up and fingerprint worked first go with home button, app stor n in app purchases.I remember also had the similar thing with the iPhone5 twelve months ago something didn't work so I reloaded software and it fixed the issue.
