ITunes Store will not load.

Whenever I try to open the ITunes Store on my MacBook Pro, I get a blank screen. I also get the following message when I open ITunes:

iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “init.itunes.apple.com”.

The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “init.itunes.apple.com”, which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?

What can I do to fix this?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

Everything was working fine for a year. I'm not sure what has happened. Something to do with an update?
