100% IOS7 Fix for (IMessage Waiting for Activation)

Hi there,

I believe i have found the fix regarding the IOS7 IMessage Waiting for activation issue.

So far i have advised a few friends and everyone of them has said it has fixed the problem

Follow the below, as i would be keen to find out if this works for you all:

Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive,

Deselect all email addresses.

Go back one screen and turn off "IMessages"

Go back another screen and select the "Face Time" settings

Deselect all email addresses and turn off facetime.

Wait 5 minutes, turn on Imessages ensuring no email addresses are selected

It should then have your mobile number ticked, and IMessages will now be working

Do the same for facetime and you are done

Hope this helps :-)

This did work! Happened to my Wife's iphone and she has a 5 that had a mobleme account since 2003, which finally expired - not sure if that has anything to do with it. Wife tried to do it the first time but I have to tell all of you ...

After factory install

- sign in to your facetime and imessage !!!

- THEN restore from back-up!!!

- Read Brankitt's instructions and you'll get it right.

After I did it ... I got the same message as before but then it went away after about 10 seconds and imessage was active. Went to facetime and it was already set. PITA to do it this way but this seems to be the most immediate fix. Tried all the short-cuts and just didn't cut it.

I've had this problem for ages too - check that your plan lets you send international texts. I was on aldimobile unlimited and it didnt include international texts - once I put on prepaid credit (that meant i could text overseas) and turned imessage back on and off it worked straight away.

Hope this helps all my fellow Aldi Mobile lovers

Thanks brankitt that worked on my two new iPhone 5s (7.0.4) that I am using with WiFi only (SIM is in but not activated for voice or data). On both iMessage and FaceTime it still says "Waiting for Activation" but both work find inbound and outbound on the unique apple ID email address. One thing I found was when do the restore step with iTunes you first need to unselect find my iPhone under iCloud on the phone. With the first phone iTunes prompted me to do this, on the second phone it didn't and it didn't proceed. So I unselected it and tried restore again and it started right away. Also (as you know) after the restore and backup before I could sign in I had to manually reconnect to WiFi. It is also worth mentioning on the second iPhone 5s doing an iMessage test to a iPhone 4s didn't work as it was trying to send out a blue SMS text - odd because it knows there is no phone number and the first iPhone 5s sent it as a blue iMessage. I used the iPhone 4s to send an iMessage to the iPhone 5s and it worked and the iPhone 5s remembered the iPhone 4s was a blue iMessage from that point forward. Cheers, cH >

backup the device with itunes.

Restore the device with itunes and set up as new.

Sign into the facetime and imessage to activate it.

After that is done and activation is good.

Restore from the backup.

Then make sure to sign into facetime and imessage again and you should be good to go

For those, who are using Prepaid SIM cards, make sure you have enough balance to send message abroad.

Because when you try to activate iMessage with your phone number (not AppleID email) the activation message will be sent from your iPhone in background. Also I sugest using cellular network while activating. Maybe you knew this, but this worked for me and my friends.
