Why do my texts say they're from my icloud email

When I send imessages and texts to people it shows up as my icloud email, not my contact information. How do I fix this?

iPhone 5, iOS 7

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure only the phone number is checked.

Try toggling your iMessage Off then back On. It should re-establish fresh connection & allow you to edit your "send & receive" area.

I have the same issue, but when I try to select my phone number in "Send & Receive" it is greyed out. Any suggestions?
