Do Not Disturb doesn't work!

A while ago i made the mistake of updating to ios 10.2.1 (14D27) on my iphone 5s since i downloaded this "update" the do not disturb feature has stopped working when the phone is unlocked yes i checked the settings under the specific contacts and in the settings app i can toggle the options freely but it does not fix it. I have tried turning phone off and on and reinstalling the new ios cuz i couldnt figure out how to go back to ios 7, this has been several weeks of this and more problems since update, my location services are permenently greyed off. No amount of fussing with settings or otherwise changes this. Siri left the phone, idk where she went but i cant acess her. All of my 3000 songs just skip through when i try play them but they still take up memory and i cant get them off the device and when i re sync it changes nothing because the device thinks they are there but they obvoisly are not. My battery always lasted 18hours or more from a full charge suddenly after update im lucky to get 2hours. I have trouble with where to start on what you did to my brighness, the phone will not get as bright or as dark as it used to and again i fussed with settings in all kinds of ways but the white point keeps changing itself. The phone will drain battery even when completly powered down. You removed my speech to text feature and this is very annoying. My camera now refuses to focus on the foreground of an image. And should i even start on how inefficient and horribly cluttered the photo roll is now...would prolly take to much time. Im just getting stated on the issues that where not intentional in this "update" but i think you get the point and dont know how much space i have to post. My phone though older is in premium hardwear condition. It has been in a life proof case since unboxing it has no dents cracks scratches or otherwise. Up until i updated this phone had no problems at all. And now i update and your rep tells me my hardwear is bad and i have to buy a new phone? **** you. My phone was fine till you broke it. You aught to send me a new phone with an apology for being scumbags. Do not download the update. I was an apple fan but i will not buy apple again after this.

You should try one topic, under the appropriate category, for each issue you have. Most people don't have have time to start figuring out your multitude of issues, let alone trying to distinguish your actual issues from your rants. ESPECIALLY in a 3+ year old post.

I suggest breaking them out individually.

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm sure you have done just as I have, I've made sure that it is set for when the phone is on or off or locked etc. Manual with no one not even favorites allowed to call through. It is so frustrating! If you have found an Answer please do let me know?

I have an iPhone 5S and just today it began to ring when receiving calls even though "do not disturb" was on. I did a hard re-set and I was undisturbed by the phone for the first call after the re-set. But it rang again for subsequent calls. Same thing with a second hard re-set. Unless someone has a fix, I'll have to power the phone off when I want not to be disturbed!

I just bought an iPhone se and I have tried everything as well and the dnd will not work. This is frustrating because I have to go to settings and turn of vibrate and use the side button to stop the sound. I've turned the phone off then back on hoping for a reset. No change. Any help would be app

DND only kicks in when the phone goes to sleep when the lock interval expires.

DND in iOS 7 can be set to work even if the phone is not locked.

I think you are correct. Page 31 of the manual says:

Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb is an easy way to silence iPhone, whether you’re going to dinner or to sleep. It keeps calls and alerts from making any sounds or lighting up the screen.

Turn on Do Not Disturb. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Center, then tap . When Do Not Disturb is on, appears in the status bar.

Note: Alarms still sound, even when Do Not Disturb is on. To make sure iPhone stays silent, turn it off.

Configure Do Not Disturb. Go to Settings > Do Not Disturb.

You can schedule quiet hours, allow calls from your Favorites or groups of contacts, and allow repeated calls to ring through for those emergency situations. You can also set whether Do Not Disturb silences iPhone only when it’s locked, or even when it’s unlocked.

Check your contacts list and see if you have flagged your Alarm company as one of the contact calls that should come through regardless of DND.

So just to verify, in your settings....

Allow Calls From is set to No One

Repeated Calls is OFF

Silence is Always

My next question, is this from evey alert (Mail, Calendar, Reminders, etc), just phone calls, or is it just the Alarm co?

Make sure the Alarm co. is not in your VIP list.

I have been using this in iOS 7 for quite a while now, and it has worked beautifully for me on both iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.

Yes, it blocks everything on both 5 and 5s, if I have it set that way. Make sure the Repeated calls is turned off, also. If you call twice in (i believe) 3 minutes, the call will go through if that is not turned off. Not a bad option to have on, though, in case of emergencies. Just my opinion.

Are all calls going through, or just the Alarm co calls?
