My Photo Stream is empty with iCloud Control Panel 3.0

I've got iPhone, iPad and PC (Windows 8) in sync with iCloud Control Panel 2 properly before.

Days ago I upgraded to iCloud Control Panel 3.0, Other shared photo streams and iCloud bookmarks are sync perfectly but "My Photo Stream" is not sync on PC anymore. I've cleaned up iCloud Photos sync folder completely and signed in to the iCloud Control Panel again, but "My Photo Stream" is just not sync.

Any idea?

Got it to work again with the hint of Viper3773 ... was curious though, because it synced just 30 pictures of the 1000 I see, when I look to the stream from the iPhone ... the pictures, that got synced where younger than 30 days, the first, not synced picture is 31 days old ... maybe thats the reason for the "random photo download" ... maybe you should try to mark some (or even all) of the 1000 pictures on your phone, save them to a new folder and then sync the folder via iTunes.

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place. I just want to post that mine is back working!!!! Mine finally finally is working. I tried many many things. I don't even know anymore what actually worked. I do think it had something to do with where my file was. "Location". I don't know a lot about these things. Things got messed up and I think I had folders, of sub folders, of sub folders. It is now simply in pictures/icloud photos/My Photo Stream. As I said I don't know about these things and you can call me crazy but maybe it is all picky about the spelling of the file. Some people call it Photostream. It is Photo Stream maybe????? Laugh all you want...mine is fixed! LOL

Mine is working too with the latest iCloud.

I had given up and do nothing like 2 months ago. I suspect Apple has fixed the whole **** thing.

Now the fresh pics from my iphone can stream to my PC (window 8) prettly much instantly. No problem at all.

However, all my older stored pics at iCloud (like 1000+) are all gone. Glad I saved them to my other folder.

Unfortunately it isn't working. I have close to a 1000 pics stored in my Photo Stream on ICloud and it only downloads about 250 to 400 pics each time I try to download them. It's also completely random pictures everytime as well.

I have been trying to fix this for probaby 6 months. Still no fix. I'm currently looking for an alternative program to download all my images. I'm hitting a brickwall there too. Hopefully someone will create an app that will work.

Funny, this collides with the FAQ, found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486:

How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud?

The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.

How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?

iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.

Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.

But maybe I mixed this up and 1000 pictures is for iOS only.

EDIT: Since this seems to happen to others aswell: http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/1rco4d/apple_has_removed_the_1000_photo_l imit_in_photo/

I think older than 30 days or more than 1000 pictures ago, what ever happens first won't be synced. The link you gave I would interpred as limits of the stream, asuming you have turned on your mac the whole time than Apple won't guarantee that all photos are synced if you take more than 1000 per hour and so on.

And they are all taken within the last 30 days?

For example if you just took 100 pictures this year, and 10 within the last 30 days ... iCloud would just sync the last 10 pics, even though SOMETIMES you are able to see all of the 100 pics taken this year and the last 900 pics taken 2013 on your device. They seem to be stored, but I wasn't able to sync them by default. But I was able to save them to an other folder on the iPhone as I lost my collection a few months ago and then sync them to the Mac via USB.

I tried several of the things suggested in this thread (probably not all of them, as there are 14 pages worth). The only thing that worked for me was allowing iCloud to stoare the photos in the default location, as described here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5393736?answerId=23442328022#23442328022. Very annoying, as:

  • I was putting them into a Dropbox folder for offsite backup and sharing
  • I didn't discover the problem until a couple of days ago, so it appears I've lost photos from around November until late February
