Feb 19, 2014 6:22 AM in response to louistcby Sk1nk,Got it to work again with the hint of Viper3773 ... was curious though, because it synced just 30 pictures of the 1000 I see, when I look to the stream from the iPhone ... the pictures, that got synced where younger than 30 days, the first, not synced picture is 31 days old ... maybe thats the reason for the "random photo download" ... maybe you should try to mark some (or even all) of the 1000 pictures on your phone, save them to a new folder and then sync the folder via iTunes.

Mar 24, 2014 9:14 PM in response to Alex Ieongby berngirl,Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place. I just want to post that mine is back working!!!! Mine finally finally is working. I tried many many things. I don't even know anymore what actually worked. I do think it had something to do with where my file was. "Location". I don't know a lot about these things. Things got messed up and I think I had folders, of sub folders, of sub folders. It is now simply in pictures/icloud photos/My Photo Stream. As I said I don't know about these things and you can call me crazy but maybe it is all picky about the spelling of the file. Some people call it Photostream. It is Photo Stream maybe????? Laugh all you want...mine is fixed! LOL

Mar 24, 2014 9:32 PM in response to berngirlby jojobuster,Mine is working too with the latest iCloud.
I had given up and do nothing like 2 months ago. I suspect Apple has fixed the whole **** thing.
Now the fresh pics from my iphone can stream to my PC (window 8) prettly much instantly. No problem at all.
However, all my older stored pics at iCloud (like 1000+) are all gone. Glad I saved them to my other folder.

Mar 25, 2014 11:48 AM in response to Alex Ieongby xlbillyboylx,Unfortunately it isn't working. I have close to a 1000 pics stored in my Photo Stream on ICloud and it only downloads about 250 to 400 pics each time I try to download them. It's also completely random pictures everytime as well.
I have been trying to fix this for probaby 6 months. Still no fix. I'm currently looking for an alternative program to download all my images. I'm hitting a brickwall there too. Hopefully someone will create an app that will work.

Mar 25, 2014 11:51 AM in response to xlbillyboylxby Sk1nk,Check the date of the pictures. iCloud will just sync pictures taken within the last 30 days. Even if you can see the last 1000 pics, you'll only download the part, taken within 30 days.

Mar 25, 2014 12:04 PM in response to Sk1nkby xlbillyboylx,Thank you for your reply. Yes I know this already. That's only partially true actually. 30 days is correct, but it'll store up to 25,000 pics. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4858
I have a program that will printout how many pictures I have stored in the ICloud so I know they are there, just the control panel is trash.

Mar 25, 2014 12:23 PM in response to xlbillyboylxby Sk1nk,Funny, this collides with the FAQ, found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486:
How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud?
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.
How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.
But maybe I mixed this up and 1000 pictures is for iOS only.
EDIT: Since this seems to happen to others aswell: http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/1rco4d/apple_has_removed_the_1000_photo_l imit_in_photo/
I think older than 30 days or more than 1000 pictures ago, what ever happens first won't be synced. The link you gave I would interpred as limits of the stream, asuming you have turned on your mac the whole time than Apple won't guarantee that all photos are synced if you take more than 1000 per hour and so on.

Mar 25, 2014 12:22 PM in response to Sk1nkby xlbillyboylx,That is weird. The FAQ is more recently updated so who really knows which is true.
Regardless though, I have less than a 1000. So it still isn't working correctly.

Mar 25, 2014 12:33 PM in response to xlbillyboylxby Sk1nk,And they are all taken within the last 30 days?
For example if you just took 100 pictures this year, and 10 within the last 30 days ... iCloud would just sync the last 10 pics, even though SOMETIMES you are able to see all of the 100 pics taken this year and the last 900 pics taken 2013 on your device. They seem to be stored, but I wasn't able to sync them by default. But I was able to save them to an other folder on the iPhone as I lost my collection a few months ago and then sync them to the Mac via USB.

Mar 25, 2014 12:36 PM in response to Sk1nkby xlbillyboylx,Yep. I never had this problem 6 months ago.
I'm working on a complicated fix right now though. I'll try and keep you updated.

Mar 29, 2014 10:40 PM in response to Alex Ieongby sf63,I tried several of the things suggested in this thread (probably not all of them, as there are 14 pages worth). The only thing that worked for me was allowing iCloud to stoare the photos in the default location, as described here https://discussions.apple.com/message/23442328#23442328. Very annoying, as:
- I was putting them into a Dropbox folder for offsite backup and sharing
- I didn't discover the problem until a couple of days ago, so it appears I've lost photos from around November until late February

Apr 12, 2014 2:03 PM in response to Alex Ieongby ericShawn,I am an AAPL shareholder and I also am having no luck with syncing photos through iCloud on my PC.
Apple: you have SERIOUS problems here. How can I readily recommend Apple products when they work this poorly?
I have utterly given up on expecting iCloud to function on a PC. This is just sad.
Fix it.
