Sep 18, 2014 8:05 AM in response to Alex Ieongby Alex Ieong,Hi everybody, iCloud for Windows 4.0 is out today.
Bad news is that "My Photo Stream" is completely not working at all here.
How about you all?

Sep 21, 2014 10:43 PM in response to Alex Ieongby rolo101,yes also not working with new control panel. i have suffered this problem over many releases and it has gone on so long also a couple of machines. time to give up. onedrive offers more space and a working solution. hopefully soon MS will be be able to backup automatically but i'm giving up on apple ever wanting to address this problem. photostream ***** and apple seem perfectly happy with this. i have now switched contacts, photos, reminders etc to MS. Their solution works. Also beware of using crome 64 bit as icloud does not support this - or equally give up completely on apple offering a stable solution to any of their icloud features

I tried everything and this was the only thing that worked for me:
- Open Task Manager (ctrl, alt and delete) and end ApplePhotoStream.exe and AppltPhotoStreamDownloader.exe if they're running.
- Go to your Users folder and navigate to the following path: C:\Users\Dean\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MediaStream\ - Obviously my user folder is Dean but yours will be the user that you're logged into Windows as.
- Delete everything in that folder.
- log out of icloud, and then log in and re-activate the photos option
- it should start downloading again your photos
I used this method & it seems to work. The AppltPhotoStreamDownloader.exe file may not appear (it didn't for me). I found APSDaemon.exe instead. I'm unsure if they are different, but I ended both APSDaemon & ApplePhotoStream then signed out of iCloud before deleting the MediaStream folder & logging back in.

Sep 24, 2014 4:38 AM in response to Alex Ieongby OGhoul,Still not working for me either.
I initially had the issue begin sometime after the 3.x upgrade. This was on a Windows 7 PC. I've tried on another Windows 7 PC, and now on my current Windows 8.1 PC with Control Panel 4.0.
My shared streams sync. I can sometimes upload from my PC (though the pictures never show in my PC's photostream), but nothing new I shoot ever shows up on the PC.
I was really hoping this would be resolved before my 6 Plus gets here. Looks like I'll be dragging my laptop, phone, and iPad to my nearest Apple Store, since the week of communications I had with AppleCare didn't resolve this 6 months ago.

Sep 24, 2014 8:12 AM in response to OGhoulby mtrevelino,After getting Photo Stream to work (about a month ago) by unchecking the iCloud Photo Sharing Box in Control Panel (CP) 3.0, I have just upgraded to CP 4.0 and now no more downloads to my windows 8.1 pc. Photo Stream will update among my three Apple devices (2 phones and ipad), but not the pc. I printed out a lot of the suggestions to start working on this. I tried unchecking the Photo Sharing box but I still have the same results. I do have a square shape in the Photo box which I assume is from having only one box checked on the Options page. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Sep 24, 2014 9:28 AM in response to mtrevelinoby mtrevelino,UPDATE!!! I just tried PEPMS and Emunny87 suggestions, and the photos are now downloading to the DEFAULT directory. It seems that the problem starts when you change the default directory. It is not that big of a deal since I download the pictures from the photo stream directory to another "backup" directory on my computer which I then resize the pictures. Something I started to do many years ago and cannot seem to break the habit.

Sep 24, 2014 9:46 AM in response to mtrevelinoby springhay,Its taken me ages just to find this post! Nothing is simple with Apple is it....I logged on hoping it would take me to the forum/post I was viewing.......But for what its worth, I did everything known to man to sort this out. A week ago, for no reason really, I removed my control panel and re-installed it. About the tenth time, let me add. And again, for no apparent reason it was all working again. And thats the problem......there is just no logic to this never-ending saga!!

Sep 25, 2014 7:01 AM in response to Alex Ieongby Hate SmartLinks,iOS 8 and some pictures are still not uploading to Photostream. Even when getting past lock screen and taking pictures, they still don't update. I only have 108 photos in Photostream.

When I changed back to the default location and Photo Stream started working, it only took in the last 136 out of 1,526 pictures. If you can, you will have to manually copy them to the default directory. Otherwise, I do not know how you can get the remainder of the pictures to download. This is why I back everything up to a separate drive on my pc. Here is a post that may help you:

Sep 26, 2014 1:59 AM in response to Alex Ieongby GentleBath,My Photo Stream stopping downloading to my PC on Aug 21. I signed out of icloud, restarted and signed back in and left the icloud photo folder in the default folder. It restarted the stream but now my old photo stream images are gone and it only downloaded about 15 random recent images. The only images it seems to sync each time are the shared streams I shared with myself so that I know they will stay in icloud.
I upgraded my iPad to ios 8 this weekend but is looks my my stream stopped long ago. The whole concept of temporary and permanent images is very disturbing to me because there is no more "photo stream" anyway in os 8. Now I don't know what image is where so it makes not syncing them that much more confusing. (I hope that made sense)

Sep 26, 2014 6:54 AM in response to Alex Ieongby Hate SmartLinks,The problem is more than uploading/syncing to PC or Ipads. Photos taken on the phone will not upload to the photostream on that same phone.

Oct 14, 2014 7:03 AM in response to Alex Ieongby DunksApple,Sigh! Same problem here; no photos in folder on Win 7. I had moved it to a NAS drive to enable easy backups with the rest of my photos. Sadly Apple clearly aren't into convenience or allowing user configurations. Guess I'll have to use the default location.

Oct 18, 2014 9:59 PM in response to Alex Ieongby TCB64,Hi Group, I'm back....as if the prior iCloud Control Panel was not problematic enough downloading pics from iPhone and iPad to a Windows 7 PC, I installed the new version today....and it will not download pics, not let me sign out, nor will options open to choose Photo Stream or Photo Sharing...the screen says iCloud Photos is not enabled...Before I loaded the new Panel, my photos had stopped downloading again. Several Apple Level 2 techs don't know what to make of it. Ideas about how to sign out of the panel (it just goes pale and the little circle keeps going around)...even when shut off from the task manager, it will not be signed out....ideas about how to get it to work? Anyone else have these problems??? Thanks! Tobi

May 24, 2015 1:37 AM in response to Alex Ieongby NicoRak,Hi group, I found out this thread as I realized my photos weren't syncing since 6 months on my both pc (hum, it was obviously not a need, but i like puzzles !!)
icloud version is 4.1, windows 7 64
I disconnected / reconnected iCloud on both PC but I am not sure this step is compulsory
I did the AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MediaStream method on one PC but it did not work
On both PC I simply import a random picture from the media stream folder (using "add picture") and my last 30 days synced again
Hope it can help
