An open ticket was mentioned here in regard to Rogers. I have AT&T, I know several people with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile iPhones and when this thread first came up I polled all of them regarding DND problems. None of them were having any. If you are having a problem with DND and AT&T it is an issue specific to your iPhone and you need to get it resolved. Make a Genius Bar appointment.

I don't want to be sarcastic, but I can not believe that Canada is such a wonderful country where all apple products work perfectly. I don't believe it.

This DND problem is not related to the carriers. At least not in the US.

And no, the so called "genius" bar is also not a magical fix.

Apple does like to continue supporting older products, because they want you to buy new hardware every year or two. There are many examples of this (remember mobile me and ipod touch- they changed the email system with their "upgrade" and now those devices, sold as email capable, no longer handle apple email).

In this case, Apple sent out yet another in a stream of updates, and while it might make some devices better, it breaks others. And it simply doesn't work properly. Just ask the genius bar. If you have an iphone 4, there are many glitches. Guess what how they tell you to fix it? Buy a new phone. It's an old industrial strategy called planned obsolescence.

The idea that we should be buying new durable consumable goods every year or two is the problem. It is vanity, hubris, waste and the idolatry of consumerism.

I'm not sure where you're going with the Canada thing. While planned obsolescence is unfortunatly a very real thing and Apple is certainly guilty of it, this problem is not related. I have an iPhone 5S, Apple's latest flagship, and it's got the same problem. This is a bug, plain and simple -- well, maybe not so simple because it seems to be only occuring with Rogers and T-Mobile with "share everything" plans on the latest carrier versions and iOS.

Thank you sir for all your hard work; I called Fido and they had the Name thing turned off. I can once again sleep tigthly during the day - I work at nigth. Imagine how many telemarketers calls I was getting while sleeping!

If you ever hear there is an actual fix for this issue either from Apple or Rogers/Fido please let us know.

FYI, I have an iPhone 5S - so it came with iOS 7 pre-installed - and I am absolutely sure I didn't have this issue before the 7.1 update. I had an iPhone 5 before and updated to 7 as soon as it was available and never had this issue either. I am suspecting it came with a carrier update instead but I couldn't find out when was the last one done (I'm at 16.0).

I HAVE FOUND A COMBINATION THAT FIXED DND SINCE APPLE FAILS TO DO SO!!

Do not disturb worked JUST FINE until I installed iOS 7.1.

All else is silenced EXCEPT THE PHONE CALLS!

I have been embarrassed multiple times in a meeting because I put it on DND and IT STILL RINGS!!!!!!

I am on AT&T

My OLD Settings for DND are listed below:

Manual off

Scheduled with time set

Allow calls from favorites

Repeated Calls on

Silence -Always

Have tried power off and back on and reset

**NEW SETTINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS.

Manual ON

Scheduled OFF

Allow calls from NO ONE

Repeated Calls ON

Silence -Always

I am just going to tell my favorites to call twice to ring through.

I hope this helps. I know I am excited!!

I have DND on and the Contact is on my BLOCKED list via iOS 7.1.1

What happens ? The iphone rings at 2am!!! If this grisly issue is not software which apple can't fix nor rogers, I have a permanent fix for both! Switching to a Galaxy S5 on Bell should do the trick.

Seriously Apple, and Rogers please fix this problem. Name display is actually a useful feature we shouldn't have to turn off.

I see that sensei1045 beat me to it! iOS 8.0 appears to have fixed this issue for me, as well. Today, I had Rogers re-enable the Name Display feature on my account and then I tested numerous calls to my iPhone with various Do Not Disturb and Call Block settings. So far, everything is working as expected (and how it used to work before an iOS 7 update broke it about a year ago). Fingers crossed that they don't break it again with a point update.

I have an Iphone 4. It doesn't seem to have an upgrade to iphone 8 available. Itunes says it is upgraded to the latest version in 7. It has never been "jailbroken."

For the past month some early morning phone calls have woken me up when the Do Not Disturb Scheduled feature is definitely ON. Not all calls ring through. This has not been a problem since early in 2014. I'm not sure if I did anything specific to stop the problem at that time, like a reset. I did do a reset last night and was woken early this morning. Not all calls ring through.

When this first started happening a month or so ago Manual was OFF, Scheduled was ON.

Lately both Manual and Scheduled have been ON, this did not fix the problem.

These are NOT repeated calls or Favorites (I have the feature set to not let repeated calls through anyway.)

Phone is plugged in at night. Some apps (Like calendar and Address book) were still open in the background, but nothing running visibly on the screen.

I have powered the phone off and on using the reset instructions posted by Apple at Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

and again by holding both the Sleep/Wake button at the top at the same time as the round button to no avail.

Is this still an Apple bug, or is there something further I can do with my current phone?
