This person is exactly correct everyone...it's an Apple software issue. Apple back in last January had put out a press release stating they were aware of some of the do not disturb issues and were putting out a fix for it a couple days later. Now with the introduction of iOS 7 it looks like the problems have returned. I can offer you this other tidbit of information, it seems for me anyways, the only time my do not disturb works correctly is when another iPhone is calling me. My sister with an iPhone just tried to face time me, call me and text me while I was using Safari and no notifications came through, it did exactly as advertised. A couple minutes later someone who uses a BlackBerry called and got through to me fine, this confirming my speculation on the matter.

I can't be 100% sure but from what I hear iOS 7.0.3 is only going to contain lock screen bug fixes. But we can hope.

I am having this exact problem with an iPhone 4 (not 4S) on tmobile USA. I just tweaked the settings some more (I did have it set to turn on automatically at 10pm, now I don't) so we will see what happens, though that shouldn't affect this at all.

Interesting thing, though... My phone isn't a tmobile iPhone, it's one of the unlocked iPhone 4 models from Canada, purchased back when you couldn't get an unlocked one in the USA. Probably just a coincidence, but with all of those Rogers customers having this problem, it does give me pause.

Well just updated my 4s to ios 7.0.3 hoping that this would solve my DND problem (even though they don't mention it as a fix in their description) and I'm sad to say that this latest update did not correct the problem. Exact same issue as before. So now what?? Apple obviously has not received enough complaints that it feels warrants a fix, and my carrier is adamant that it is not a carrier issue. Yet there are at least a few of us across different carriers and different countries that have not been able to use this feature since ios7. Would love to here from anyone else who had this dnd problem and just downloaded 7.0.3. Did this fix the problem for you??? Getting really frustrated as I loved this feature and used it all of the time before ios 7 ruined it.

Im facing the exact same issue. I was on the phone with Applecare and they suggested trying a restoring the phone to new to see if that would help solve the issue.

One more point - friends on the ios 7 on iphone 4s are not experiencing this issue. Im on an iphone 5s.

My phone allows calls to come through when do not disturb mode is on. It stops all other notifications however. Phone calls keep coming in.

So far:

1. reset all settings - did not solve

2. reset network settings - did not solve

3. tried turning contacts on/off - did not work

Anyone else having any luck with this issue?

Thanks for sharing. I thought that maybe it was isolated to the iphone 5s.

I was going to try a complete restore but I'm not going to after I'm noticing a lack of success.

I'm located in Canada and it seems several others are also located in canada With This Issue.

The next thing I'm going to do is to reach out to my carrier. Perhaps they have heard about this from a few other customers.

I'm also going to stop by the Apple store to see if they are aware of it at a store level.

I would really like to get this working as it was one of my favorite features before my new phone came.

Has anybody here tried the following. Has anybody completely wiped their phone and brought it back to as new and then Prior to restoring the backup file attempting to find out if the do not disturb feature works?

I'm wondering if there is back up data that is causing the corruption. I also noticed that the block call feature also does not work. I can add any contact to my list of blocked callers and their calls will also still come through.

Has anybody tried this? Are you also experiencing problems blocking calls on the block calls list?

Hey Jack,

Unfortunately like others have said a "set up a new" iPhone will not resolve the issue. My block list seems to work fine though.

One thing I have noticed is DND will ONLY work if the call that's incoming is an iPhone also... Then it works like a charm, otherwise the calls come through as if the feature is not even turned on. We won't get any help from our mobile carriers as this is clearly an iOS issue. We have different models, in different countries, using different carriers.

I guess we're all screwed unless Tim Cook turns on his DND someday and gets woken up by someone. lol

Yeah my block list works fine too. It's almost comical that many of us have dnd problems that sometimes work in different situations. The only time my dnd works is when the call coming through is private/unlisted. In this case the call is silenced, but as soon as a listed number tries to call, whether it's another iphone or not, dnd fails. My wife's phone does the same thing since ios 7 also. However as I mentioned in a previous post when I experimented and turned her 'show my caller id' to off and tried calling my phone dnd worked, but when I turned her caller id on the call rang through.

I spent some time with AppleCare on the phone yesterday.

Theyre convinced that if the phone is still having the problem after a complete reset right back to as new - then the problem is hardware related. I brought the phone back to factory new did not load a backup into it. I did not even install my iCloud credentials.

Even in that situation the do not disturb would not work.

I guess the next step is heading into Apple and trying new hardware.

Interestingly however I had a friend come over with a brand-new iPhone 5s and his was working fine.

Maybe it is hardware related?

Personally I don't think it's hardsware. My reasoning is that we could all probably agree that DND was working fine before ios7 was installed. I had zero problems nor did my wife's phone. The day I installed ios 7 on both mine/wife's phone we both had dnd problems. Apparently it's not effecting enough of us to cause apple to fix this. All I can do now is send apple a problem diagnostic of my situation and hopefully enough of us bother them to cause them to at least look into this for us.
