getting artwork to show on iPhone 5s under all artists,bands,etc.

every year i update my phone since 3g and use latest itunes and iOS at the time...

have backed up phone/itunes to separate harddrives and icloud.

issue i am coming across now from itunes 11 (on windows 7 pro 64 bit) is artwork shows up for everything songs, albums, etc other then "Artists" (only some) under artists show up. having close to 900 songs at AAC 256 constant bitrate.

lots are itunes purchased but most are cd rips which i directed to the artwork.... have no problem with any of the cd rips as art shows up in every catagory.

I have done the library transfer for iphone 4, 4s, 5 and never experienced this issue.

During initial setup after waiting all nite in line at Apple store for 64 gb gold and settling for space grey I always allow icloud backup to fully transfer to phone before leaving store.

I like the new way itunes shows the downloading taking place for both apps and music.

Any ideas on getting artwork across all catagories?

I had the same issue when I upgraded to the 5s. I did a software restore and resynced my files and the artwork now appears.

was your isue that the artwaork showed evrywhere but under "Artists"? as that is the only listing that doesn't show all artwork.

Thanks for option but I did a complete wipe and reset and it didn't fix it.

Yes, I only had issues with the artwork not appearing in the main artist listing. Hopefully you find a fix for your phone soon.

Hi mackya,

quick question to make sure I have coverred all bases.

Exactly what process did you do for your "software restore and resynced my files".

as a R & R of iTunes isn't always a fix as many folders on windows aren't removed according to my research. I probabaly should have cleaned registry of all traces of itunes before re install but since you are the only one I can find that had same issue and worked through it maybe you did something differrent?

so your process on a windows machine in itunes was?

or was it just on iphone 5s and in that case waht was that?

very wierd issue as artwork is evrywhere on albums, singles,playlists, ect...everywhere but directly under "Artists" although when i click artist to show the song their is the artwork showing for the song.

So if you would share your process as I have upgraded on each phone since 3G always problem free untill now.

I have my iTunes on a mac. I simply plugged my phone to my computer, and did a software restore from my iPhones main page in iTunes. From there it automatically restored ios and resynced all my files. I did notice that when the artwork was not showing under the main artist column that it was the artwork from Apple's servers not the artwork I uploaded into iTunes. I did read on macworld.com that Apple is/was having issues with icloud, perhaps this has something to do with it.

I'd recommend all tracks have embedded artwork. Back in the day on old iPods artwork was optional and there was a useful trick where turning artwork off, and then back on again, would fix any errors with the artwork cache. These days backup, followed by restore is the only way.

well swapped mine out for white one which i wanted on launch day but took space grey after waiting all night wasn't leaving without phone. they called me yesterday when they got new shippment with a fresh in box white one for me. simple sim card swap.

reset that one from icloud backup and boom all artwork perfect. some wierd stuff as tech/genius told me that he has noticed this alot and it always would show itunes purchased artwork under "artists" buit not often would it ever show ripped artwork.

so guess i got lucky. i only caught it as i search under artists a lot while running so i would have noticed it on my iphone 5 before or any going bavk to 3gs version or any version of itunes during that time.
