Wifi is greyed out, replaced wifi with new chip off ebay and still greyed out. I followed all the steps before and after replacing the wifi at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 . I also took it to the apple store and they cant help. Help!??

So exactly what my question says. They said at the apple store "Sometimes these things just wear out over time and you are not under warranty so we cant replace it for free. I will have to charge you the retail price."

I dont have alot of money right now to spare on an upgrade or replacement. Can someone help me figure out what is wrong? Wifi is greyed out and continues to be greyed out after reseting several settings and replacing the wifi chip. I really need some *Cheap help. Any suggestions?
