I have shut off all the auto features in settings.Pretty soon I will no longer have a smart phone.

Also look at unnecessary apps running in {Settings > Notifications} and {Settings > General > Background App Refresh}.

What is "too quickly"? My iPhone 5s has been unplugged since 5am yesterday (noon now) and still have 30% battery life with fairly heavy usage.
