Printer Recognition Problem

Just bought a HP Envy 120 printer which I have had to set up with a USB cable. When I detach the cable, all communication with the printer is lost even though the printer is connected to the network. My Mac cannot detect it. I have tried System Preferences and trying to add it but nothing is listed to add!

Can anyone help? I had an older Canon printer bfore which the Mac connected to fine. Thanks

I don't have the 3 headings on the right - mine stops at Windows.

Anyway I can report that the printer is now recognised and all is OK at present. I can't recount exactly how it happened but it was to do with the Add process in Print and Scan/ System Preferences. When I used the USB lead the printer was called HP Envy 120 in the box on the right and worked . When I tried Add again and removed the lead, it was called Air print HP Envy 120 which did not work -" Not Connected to Printer". This time it's called HP Envy 120 [6E4502] and does work although I have no idea where the bracket has come from and what it means. I suppose I should be happy that it's working and I am, but I am baffled why it should be so difficult just to connect a printer to a computer without using a lead.
