Group emails

I am trying to send emails to 40 + people, how do I set it up? do i imput all of the addresses into my contacts? also can I put all of those contacts into a seperate group? these are not personal contacts and I do not want to combine them. Also once I have created this "group" will I be able to email on myimac, ipad and iphone?
