"Unable to Download Podcast" error after upgrade to iOS7 - iPhone 4S

I have a couple of suggestions for you that will help you troubleshoot this issue. First, you should try to reset the iOS device by following these instructions:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If you are still experiencing issues after attempting that troubleshooting step, you will want to restore your iOS device according to these instructions:

I have exactly the same problem and have been unable to resolve the issue. Gave up with the Apple Podcasts app and went back to using the Downcast app which works perfectly. There is also a Downcast Mac app and you can keep them all in sync via iCloud. Only disadvantage to Downcast is that it is not available for the AppleTV

I also have this problem. If I reboot my phone the problem is solved - for one download - then the problem starts all over again. I've rebooted several times, and the pattern repeats. This is a bug that needs to be fixed!

exactly the same problem for me. reboot solves the problem for only one download. def a but that needs to get fixed

Same problem here. iPhone 4 running iOS7. Cannot download new podcasts over wifi or cellular - only get download error, even after many "Retry" attempts, reboots, etc.

Same problem here... Been looking for a solution since upgrading to iOS 7, (that's in months..). This app was just updated mind you! It has a new design(!), (looks nice, too bad it's broken). Go figure..

Sadly, the only temporary solution is to unsubscribe/delete and re-subscribe. I read somewhere that someone used the same fix, but it only works until you sync to iTunes, (after which, you have to reapply the fix).

Could not find any "Submit feedback" for the podcasts app.

Thanks for that "fix" tip. Since I rarely have time or resources for the onerous iTunes sync, I only do it once a month or less, whereas I am accessing/updating podcasts several times a week.

Just for the record, this really isn't a fix. The success is more random then actual.

I suspect Apple changed something in podcast creation requirements, and some vendors did not update their side, (since this only effect some and not all podcasts).

(I'm just guessing here. What else can we do but guess... The people in charge don't seem to care much.)

The tools to fix this are in the Podcasts App dev team's hands. We can no more fix this then fix a car without being able to open the hood.

In other words, don't hold your breath. I once had a similar 'unresolved' issue with iCal. The final 'fix' was to use something else.

Sometimes it feels like dealing with the DMV or something.

How frustrating!!! Apple started dying when jobs died. It's just a matter of time now before we all move over to droid. How do you release an update without testing, and then Braden with his lame fix. Admit your mistakes and fix it!!!

So I am having the same issue pretty much since I started trying to download pod casts to my I phone 5c a few weeks ago. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app serveral times, have called Verizon and Apple tech support and have found no solution. I have reset network settings, but not yet reset the whole phone. Judging by this thread here on the forums I am thinking resetting the whole phone will just be a waste of my time. The app is broken guys, please fix it. What's particularly funny is my buddy just got a 4s and works fine on his phone...

I guess I will have to go buy a third party app a muddle through figuring out how to manually set up pod cast feeds that way, not particularly tech savvy but I guess I will give it a try.

I have probably the same issue as you all, and I'm really upset about it, because I'm used to listening podcasts everyday on my way to school and now I can't. I can barely download any podcast. Episode of podcast is usually downloaded to 99%, then it stops and after several seconds the message which you've decribed, appears. I have last version of iOS and last version of podcast app on my IP4. I've tried all solutions described here, but none of them worked.

I reboot every day and it gives me the one-time fix for my next download. You just have to reboot after every download - no permanent fix, just a work-around...

This is intentional. This is because "the man", and Apple is every bit as much "the man" as Exxon, or big Pharma... "the man" doesn't want you getting info from any place other than the corporate owned propaganda machine.
