What happened to the "DECLINE" button for incoming calls? All I get is Remind Me, Message and Slide to Answer. Where is the RED DECLINE button?

People,there is no glitch. Decline button is removed when the phone is locked,for one simple and very clever reason: When the phone rings,while reaching for it in the pocket,you may very easily press the decline or answer button. Therefore,the call is either declined or accepted even though that was not the intention. That's why you have to SLIDE to answer. You can't slide by accident. When the phone is unlocked,which means in your hand,there IS a decline button. Try it.

I never thought of that. I guess that is the most reasonable explanation.

Correction. The decline only display if the Phone not locked.

I figured out how to have the message/decline option appear even while phone is locked.

Settings -- Touch ID & Passcode -- Allow Access When Locked -- enable (Reply with Message)

Richard, The Decline button only appears if your phone is not locked. So, if you get a call on your locked phone (the most common situation) we all lost that button, and you've now got to put more wear and tear on your Sleep/Wake button (known to not be very robust in the first place) by tapping it twice.

Why they removed the on-screen button that was extremely useful is beyond me. A lot of changes in iOS7 appear to be "just because".

I am not sure what happened or what the intent was but I just want the red decline option to return!! I hate that when I am on a call I cannot put the call into the voicemail. DECLINE is so much more effective for the crazy people that call back to back every 3 seconds. Please bring it back, Please.

I have noticed that the Decline button appears sporadically. At first I thought it was only when I was getting phone calls from people not in my address book, but that doesn't seem to always be the case. Since it's so random, I have to call it a bug.

"Decline" button was a very basic feature and it should be available in new IOS7..

For me atleast, even in iOS6, the only time there

was a decline button was if the incoming call had the

caller ID blocked. Haven't had any calls yet with iOS7

where the caller has blocked the caller ID.

As long as there was a IDed number or unknown, I

never got a decline.

@gkovach - Have you tried resetting your phone, Hold both Home and Power buttons down until the Apple logo appears and wait for phone to reset itself.

If this doesn't help you can try resetting all settings, Settings => General => Reset => Reset All Settings. You won't lose any apps, data, music, photos, etc. But you will have to go back in and reset all the setting that you changed from the factory defaults.

Its again a software glitch i suppose.

The "Decline" button is missing only if you are getting a call from an unknown number, but if the calling number is already saved in your address book then you can see the "Decline" option at the bottom left of the screen while getting a call.

Test this by saving the unknown number and see the difference yourself 😉

This is the correct answer. For some reason they decided iOS7 doesn't need it when the phone is locked. I've just been pressing the button on the top right hand corner to silence my phone when I don't want to answer.

If you're frustrated with the missing button, suggest to have it show up at all times.

I also have seen the decline button very rarely, is this a bug?. Can this decline button be set on the phone? I need the decline button as I receive so many calls and have the voicemail. I do hope that Apple repair this problem. All phones even the real cheapies have this option.

Thank you ZiZi_2! This is the true answer to the quesiton at hand. Originally, I thought it was a glitch, since the button wasn't consistently showing up in the Phone app. Locked vs. Unlocked. Genius.

It only appears when the phone is unlocked - however, you can just press the power button twice now to decline. The first press mutes, a second click will decline the call.
