Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I am creating an application which will be on iPads in store which the stores will manage, not myself. Will the stores/users be promoted to download iOS7 if it is on wifi at some point in the future? I'm not sure if this will happen or if I can only get the download if 1. Plugged into the computer 2. I if I go to my settings. If you have any idea please let me know!

All iPads will ask to install iOS 7 in Settings > General > Software Update if they have iOS 5 or newer, always that they are connected to Wi-Fi and they have an iPad 2 or later. Also, iOS 7 can be installed if you plug the iPad to a computer with iTunes

This is helpful for sure, but I am wondering if I don't allow anyone to get my settings (home button will be in a case at the store) if a random over the air message might come through from Apple asking the user to update? Otherwise, the two ways you mentioned are the only way to get the upgrade right now yes.
I've never seen such a notice, no. The only indicator I've ever seen is the number on the Settings badge indicating that an update is available. There's no option someone could tap to download the update without going into the Settings.
