Q: Shared Photo Streams not working on iPhoto
I wanted to create a Photo Stream and share it with a friend of mine so that he could upload photos to the same Stream (from his iPad, iPhone and Mac). So here's what I did:
– Created a shared Photo Stream and uploaded three photos to it from iPhoto on my Mac. These photos were instantly available on my iPad (as well as on my friend's Mac and iPad).
– Tapped "People" on the Photos app on the iPad and allowed my friend to post photos to the Photo Stream I had just created.
– My friend uploaded a photo from his iPad. This photo shows up on the shared Stream on my iPad, but not on my or his iPhoto.
So it seems like iPhoto can't handle the uploads made by my friend. I can see the photos he uploads on my iPad, but not on my Mac. The same happens with him.
Any ideas as to why this could be happening?
Many thanks!
Diego

iCloud photo sharing, which allows subscribers to add photos and videos to a shared stream created by you, will not be supported until OS X Mavericks is released. OS X Mountain Lion only supports shared photo streams, which does not allow subscribers to add photos.
Notice that is says "(iPhoto and Aperture users will not see photos and videos added by iCloud Photo Sharing contributors at this time.)" under "What do I need to be able to like photos and videos in a shared stream" in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4379. Also note that is says "Coming with OS X Mavericks" under "iCloud Photo Sharing" in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759.
