Close background apps
Hi
Hi
Double click the home button and swipe the App you wish to close up and off the screen.
Double Tap the Home Button... Then swipe the App Upwards... Tap the Home Button when finished.

No go for me. Any other suggestions? Would like to reverse this download, is it possible?
What do you mean no go? That's the way you close the Apps. Swipe the thumbnail up and off the screen. Not the icon , but the App screen shot itself.
As far as going back to iOs6 Apple provides no way to do this.As is evidenced by the abundance of threads about the issue.
I too could not close apps with the swipe up because I thought you swiped the icon, did not realise you had to open it first lol. Thank you for that Phil, closed apps successfully x
Thanks from me too Phil. I messed with this for a long time and now I feel . . . DUH. Oh well. BBB
Glad I could help. 😉
So what is the deal with closing apps, then returning to Home, then double tapping home again and the apps you just closed are running again? Clearly they are not closing as they should. I didn't re-open them so why are they showing up as running in the background again?
This does work how did you find that out? The older version was to touch the app until it wiggled.

if the app is still running after closing it, and the app has not been re-launched, try closing all apps & restarting the device by pressing the power button on the top right until it says slide to power off, then once it has shut down completely go ahead and power it back on again.
