Q: Wifi not working after upgrade to iOS 7

After upgrading iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S, the wifi is not working. It cannot detect any wifi nor am I able to enable wifi under settings. Is there a way for me to fix this?

The fact that this feature.. remove network ... is gone IOS 7 is flat out poor design by apple for which no customer was clearly consulted. It now forces me to go into my modem software (a HUGE pain the *** I might add) and refresh the list of devies to get the modem to "forget" the phone instead.

Apple FIX THIS GROSS PROGRAMMING DESIGN FLAW - and in fact I've done sw development for 25 years and I'd call this a Critical Fix instead.

There is NO excuse to make a customer go through this!

    no waaaaay!

I thought that would fix the issue . . . . . I just wish Apple would have a look at this issue, it's their phone, their software; something is seriously wrong!

thanks for letting us know, I was thinking about that option but will leave it for a bit now!!

I have a MiFi2372 which I use as a private wifi connection when I travel.  Since I upgraded to iOS7, it does not work on any of my apple devices - iPAD2, mini iPAD, iPhone4S or iPhone5.

    apple chats1.jpg

I have had 4 chats so far with Apple online support.
I have an iPhone 4S bought in the UK and am now on an extended trip away from the UK and have the wifi issue since update.
They want me to send it back to the UK, at my expense, for it to be repaired or replaced as they say it cannot be fixed in Australia.
As you can see they don't place much faith in what forum users say, or their issues asince the update.

Well I figured that I'd add to the drama with iOS7 and 4s.  Same problems as everyone here.  I simply wanted to add to the complaint-count of completely dissatisfied customers.   The worse part is that i would GLADLY go back to iOS6 -- which I actually preferred anyway -- but we can't even do that.

I am still experiencing the wifi error after the upgrade to IOS 7. I have tried almost everything and I noticed that the wifi works for a short period of time when I reset all the settings. This is completly unacceptable. Apple must give us an answer. Clearly not a hardware problem, as it returns to function after a reset the settings.

Apple, why are you removing all of my comments re the 4S WiFi issue?

Apple Support had me run thru a software reset to iOS 7.0.2 to try to fix the issue. I then restored all my data thru iCloud, WiFi then failed again within 3 days.

I called Apple Support again and this time they suggested that I software reset to iOS 7.0.3. This reset the 4S to factory settings, but this time no WiFi, so I'm without Apps, contacts, everything as I cannot restore from iCloud.

I called Apple Support again + talked to a supervisor, who refused to accept any fault. I was told that iOS7 "uncovered an already-existing hardware issue" and that Apple were in no way responsible for the issue.

After 30 mins of discussion, I gave up as the only choice given to me was to pay 211 euros to "fix" the issue.

The hosts remove posts for violation of the Terms of Use of the forum. That's the only reason. And when they do remove a post they send you an email explaining why. So read your email.

btw, the mail stated that the post was removed "because it contained non-constructive rants or complaints". I feel that the rant was justified and that I may have been voicing the opinion of a great many users affected by this issue.

I've spoken to an iPhone repair company here and have been quoted $60 (Australian) for what seems to be a common issue.

That's a lot less than the 166 Sterling I was originally quoted by Apple support.

    I've just ordered  a fairphone from fairphone.com.

    I don't like Apple anymore.

Been having problems and heard that an  iOS 7.03 upgrade was available. That was great but I couldn't connect to.  wi-fi to upload. For what it's worth, I set my 4s to airplane mode, did a hard boot and Wi-Fi came on.  With nothing to lose I quickly started the iOS 7.03 update.  It took about 30 min to upload and install. After it was complete, it connected to Wi-fi (home) then went to work and it auto connected there as well.  So far so good. It's worked for a few days with no problem.

I'm affected by the 4s wifi/bluetooth issue and share your frustration; I too have had many posts removed and been quoted the "non-constructive rant" but you only need to state an opinion that isn't acceptable and the post will be removed

it is extremely frustrating to have this issue and those who don't, I feel can't appreciate the situation

I myself also got affected by this wifi issue.

My problem that I could connect to wifi, but could not do browsing at all since upgrading to iOS 7.0.2 in iPad 3 Retina.

Tried to reset network, etc to no avail.

My last effort is to reset the iPad back to original factory (by doing Reset Content and Setting), then setup as new iPad (do not restore from backup).

Yes, I know it is painful process as I to lose all game settings. All my important game settings were saved manually using PhoneDisk (Google it for procedure) before this reset process.

And Finally Wifi and Internet back to normal, at least until now.

Hope this helps and encourage to do this last resort.
