Can't delete old iCloud account. Ex-wife changed details now can't recover them.

I want to delete an old iCloud account as I have a new one. The default option in Settings>iCloud is for the old account. To delete that account I need the password OR recovery email address OR security question answers. I have none of them. Help please

If you haven't signed into FaceTime, go to Settings>FaceTime and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password. If you are signed into FaceTime, tap the ID and sign out, then sign back in with your current ID. Then try deleting the iCloud account again and see if it accepts your current password (even if it is still showing the old account ID).
