Close those apps/games and reboot the device and then try them again.
Double tap the home button and then swipe up on the small app screens from the mulitasking display in order to close them.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 7, 64 GB

Thanks for the quick reply, but this didn't fix my issue. I'd be grateful for any other suggestions. This is quite frustrating.
