siri doesn't respond after i0S7 install

Just installed i0S7 on iphone 5. Siri is on, but she/he doesn't respond. I changed to the male voice, but doesn't respond; changed back to the female voice, doesn't respond. I toggeled it on and off, still doesn't respond. All I get is a list of "some things you can ask me." So I even try the things I CAN ask, and Siri does not respond. What happened? Used to work.

Found another post from 2012 about this problem -- no resolve, but being this is 2013 and it's a NEW iOS, I figured I better make a new post.
