Popup asks me to sign into Icloud w/ wrong account name

I just recently did the update of IOS7 on my iphone 4. Now my iphone 4 has a continuous, never ending pop saying "Sign in to iCloud", HOWEVER, it keeps asking me for the Apple ID password for the wrong account. Everytime I put in my password, it doesn't match because I can't change the account to the correct account.

I've googled this and I've tried shutting off Imessage, I've tried shutting off Icloud, I've tried deleting the Icloud account, I've tried going to the App store to make sure there were no downloads pending, I've tried shutting off Face Time, and I've also tried changing the account back to the original/correct account but it won't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use this phone for work and I CANNOT make calls, check emails, check messages, etc. w/ this continuous popup. I need a fix yesterday!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having the same issue. I just got an iphone 7 and used my icloud backup from my old iphone to get all the data onto the 7. But a popup keeps asking for my mom's apple ID email and password- which I used years ago to download a few things on her devices. But all of those apps/music have since been under my apple id and my icloud for years. I can't go change the email address on the Apple ID account page to my mom's because that is currently her ID. When I do log into my mom's ID when it pops up, my phone can't update or download any new apps. So then I log out of itunes/app store and retry, which is when the popup appears asking for my mom's ID.

I never had this problem on my old iphone, ipad, or mac. And no we don't have family sharing on. I've tried signing in/out of everything, resetting the phone, deleting and redownloading apps, etc.

To fix this on IOS 7, in a web browser (I'd recommend one on another device) go to appleid.apple.com and log into your current Apple ID (not the one that continues to appear for iClould) by clicking on "Manage your Apple ID". Once successfully in to your account, click on Edit your Apple ID & Primary email address. Change the Apple ID to one appearing in your iCloud prompt. It's okay if this is an e-mail address that you no longer have access to as this is a temporary step and does not actually have to be verified.

Once you've changed your Apple ID to the one appearing in the iCloud prompt reset the phone.

When prompted, enter what was your current Apple ID's password when prompted by iCloud. This should allow you to get past the password loop and you will now want to delete the iCloud account. I would suggest answering the prompt to Delete but keep data the data on the device. Once you've done this go back to your web browser and log into appleid.apple.com. Change the Apple ID & Primary email address we just changed back to the Apple ID that you would like to use for iTunes and iCloud and save it. Now you must verify the Apple ID you would like to use going forward so make sure you are using a valid e-mail address.

At this point you can use it to log into iCloud with your new Apple ID on the IOS 7 device and you should be good to go.

Hello PaulStel ... I'm having the same issue as NBastello. I am prompted to enter my apple ID for an old email account only it's on my ipad, not my iphone.

Here are my two problems:

1. The email account that keeps popping up is no longer valid. It's an old internet company that no longer exists - therefore I can't access the old email account (changing my primary email address on the apple support page is sending verification to that old email address).

2. The wifi on my ipad has been disconnected and because I can't get past the prompt, I can't reconnect.

Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Ok. My kids ipad went into infinite loop mode...holy crap!!

I tried everything...even a reset via the ipad but you have to turn off Find my Ipad but can't because it won;t connect to the web, etc. Insanity!!

But then I found this...recovery mode! From Apple itself...FINALLY...

I'm doing the download and will restore from an old back-up. Let's hope it works.

Here's what happened. I recovered, using the method above. I then reinstalled from a back up. That ended the infinite loop. I was then able to get onto a wifi account.

THEN I logged into appleid.apple.com and changed my password. Which was suggested above.

Turned off then on. When it turned on, it prompted me AGAIN but when I entered new password into icloud it took me to Terms and Conditions acceptance. A new step! Hooray!

And it worked.
