camera causes phone to shut off?

I just downloaded ios7 a few days ago. i dont recall if i used the camera before tonight but i had 30% battery, used the camera for 3 pictures and the phone shut off saying that the battery was too low. so i plugged it in for a little while, tried again, and it happened again. has anyone else experienced this? thanks.
