Q: Need Fast and Effective way to save files recorded as AVC as .mov through Final Cut Pro 7

I have taken video with a Panasonic camera.  The footage is saved on an SD Card.  I log and transfer the footage into Final Cut Pro 7.  Now, I wish to save my footage as a .mov file.  When I choose to export the video "using Quicktime conversion," the conversion never completes.  I have sat before the computer for 12 hours, but the conversion never moves past the 20% mark.

These are specifications I make on the .mov file I am trying to create:

Compression Type: H.264

Frame Rate: 30

Data Rate: Automatic

Key Frames Automatic

Frame Reordering: Unchecked

Audio/Sound Format: AAC

I am trying to convert about 2 hours of continuous footage.  I understand that the sheer size of the file causes the conversion to take lots of time.

I am simply looking for the fastest way to save my AVC footage as a single/continuous .mov file.  What will be the fastest way to complete this task on an Apple computer?

Final Cut Pro 7, Quicktime Conversion

Do understand that telling us you want .mov doesn't really mean much. MOV is a wrapper that can support a great number of codecs.

It is the codec that is the key bit of information ....

Having said that - the simplest way to convert AVCHD files to anything else would be to use ClipWrap2.

Open your file in it and export to whatever you wish.
