Why is transparency not working in IOS7 Safari?

I've noticed that when you switch to landscape mode on iOS7's version of Safari, transparent PNGs are no longer supported... but they are supported in portrait mode.

Does anyone know why this and/or if Apple are aware of it? I'm hoping it's just a bug that's going to be resolved.
