ios 7 proximity sensor not working

You are correct! The proximity sensor no longer works with IOS7! I have 10 iPhones in my office including versions 4, 4S and 5. The sensor is now disabled on every phone. If you manually cover the sensor, you can still easily touch any phone setting with your cheek when making a call. On virtually every call, I end up pressing the Face Time button. A major bug ....

My iPhone 4S with iOS 7 has no such problem. If I cover the sensor with my finger or my face the screen blanks and stops responding. The usual solution to this problem is to remove the case from the phone.

You can also try rebooting the phone, or Settings/General/Reset - Reset all settings.

I tried rebooting every phone and the sensor was still disabled. I then rebooted them all a second time and now the sensor is working. Strange - but successful! Thanks!

I tried rebooting my iphone 4 several times, yet the proximity sensor still does not work. I don't use a case so this is definitely not the problem. It is really frustrating, as making calls is a real hassle now...If anyone knows how to fix this that'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Are you actually rebooting and not just powering off? Hold the Home button and Power button down at the same time for about 10 seconds until your screen goes blank. I had to do this twice on each phone for the proximity sensor to start working again.

Did you try Reset All Settings?

I rebooted (not just powering off) and reset all settings several time, but the issue persists 😟

Even me and my friends are facing this problem we all have iphone 5 and after updating to ios 7 the sensor started malfunctioning, during the call because sensor is not working call goes on hold or new call is automatically added etc.

And there are a **** lot of call failures in ios 7.

Please resolve this issue.

Have Iphone 5 and 4s with no cases and both having issues! I know these issues very well as the iPhone 4S I had actually got replaced by Apple because it was so bad and now the problem is back. I have tried all the tips and tricks and nothing has worked. 4 out if 5 calls I have accessed the phone with my cheek inadvertently!! Sooooo disappointed in APPLE once again. Not an acceptable issue as THIS IS A PHONE!

Same issue here. iPhone 5, iOS 7. I don't know if this problem was before, because this is already replaced phone and I put iOS 7 in it at once.

It's interesting that sometime it works at the begining, but during the call it turn the display on, and than I start to push things like mute, add new call... Sometimes it doesn't work at all, and also sometimes, it kind of work. It turn off display, but than after few seconds it turn off display, but it is kind of dimmed, and than you can also push on it.

I don't know should I send my phone to replacement again (there is no apple store in my city), or this is some software issue?

I tried reeboot few times but doesn't work. 😟

Some people have resolved it with a reboot, and others by Reset All Settings in Settings/General/Reset. And others by removing the case.

If we were to do the 'Reset All Settings' does this mean we have to re-enter all email accounts and passwords???

Neither one of two helped. Ain't using case.
