Is there a way to tell which apps are associated with the old id? Or do I have to delete all my apps and start all over again?
I signed into my apple id, updated it with a new email address, deleted the old one from the account. Then I signed out of everything icloud, itunes, app store, on both my iPad and Macbook. Then signed back in with the newer email address. I still get the pop up with the older email address. Isn't it technically still the same account just a newer updated email address.
Great idea, but iTunes on my computer won't accept the old Apple id & password combination. It actually noted that my old Apple id was not a valid id. But my iPad keeps asking for the password for the old inactive account. Way to make a new iPad attractive!
You can't delete accounts, all you can do is remove any personal info from them (e.g. payment details) and stop using them - anything that you downloaded on the account is permanently tied to it, if you don't want to have anything to do with that account anymore you will need to delete its downloads
With ? Anything that is downloaded from the stores is permanently tied to the account that downloaded it, if you no longer want to use an account delete its downloads, remove any personal info from the account, and stop using it
Apple totally *****, my main email is linked to an old Apple ID that is no longer in use, and now I can’t even use my main email with my new iphone and new Apple ID. Apple won’t let you delete the old Apple ID even with verification. I should have stayed with Samsung. 👎-1F3FD;👎-1F3FD;
or wait 90 days and then u can update them with ur new Apple ID. I had to that after I got divorced and got my own Apple ID for the first time. If u delete and re download, you will lose all your progress and content. ie) games or long term tracking apps, etc
Hi, Axeman1020. Thank you for your answer. How do I know which apps/songs exactly have been purchased with my old apple ID so that I can delete them? I don't even know my old apple id sign in details anymore, yet apple keeps asking me for my password for it.
If this is on an iOS device look at the accounts purchase histories, hopefully each item will only be on one of them. If you have them in your computer’s iTunes library you can do ‘get-info’ on them, that will tell you owning id.
It is possible to delete app ids that have not been used. See the 'More Like This' links on the right.
Settings > iTunes and App Stores > Apple ID > Sign out
Then sign in with the correct Apole ID
I did it! and it's still asking me to sign in with the old apple ID. I dont know what else to do? Does someone know what I'm missing here?
Do you mean you are getting popups with your old Apple ID already filled in and asking you to provide a password?
Did you create a whole new Apple ID or did just change it?
How do I figure out which apps were purchased with the old Apple ID??
The problem is I don't know the password for the old ID, and it is a dead email address, so I can't login. Is there another way to identify which apps area associated with the Dead ID?
You can't delete it, all you can do is remove any personal info from it (e.g. Change or remove your Apple ID payment information - Apple Support) and stop using it
