How do I Delete old Apple ID
How do I delete an old inactive Apple ID.? It keeps asking me for a password but the id is inactive so it won't accept. I can set up I cloud on my new ID

You can not delete an Apple ID. It is asking for the password because you have an app on the devices trying to update that has been purchased on the old Apple ID. Purchases are permanently linked to the Apple iD that they were made on. To resolve this you need to delete the app and download/repurchase it with your current Apple ID.

You can't delete an account, you can only remove personal info from it (e.g. payment details) and stop using it
But, this is an old account with a username, not an email username. How do I deal with this, can't delete, can't figure out the apps linked to it to delete.

You can't delete an account (and even if you could delete an account we are fellow users, we wouldn't be able to do it for you) - you can only remove personal info from an account and stop using it
