iPhone 5s screen studders when switching between app or when opening apps from the multitasking screen

How does the screen ficker? Does the whole screen flick to black?

I am experiencing this EXACT issue. Have you heard any other reports? Is it bad hardware or a software bug?

I just noticed the same issue with my iPhone 5S. I turned the phone off and on, but still with flickering when switching between apps through multitasking. It's not a major problem, but hopefully this will be fixed in the next update.

I noticed a similar issue, even now on iOS 7.0.3. When coming back to the homescreen from multitasking, there is a quick fraction of a second where the screen seems to resize itself (stretches up.) It's really brief, and not too noticeable if you're not paying attention. The easiest way to see it is if you look at the carrier name right when you get back to the homescreen.

The funny thing is, this doesn't happen with an iOS 7 upgraded iPhone 5, only on the 5S. Which makes me wonder if it's not a software thing but more of a hardware thing.

It also sometimes happens when coming back to the homescreen from an app.

This happens regardless of whether the parallax motion is on or off.

Does anyone else notices this?

It's happening to my phone too (an italian iphone 5s).

I've got a substitution for another reason, and there's the same issue, even with the ios 7.0.3.

I think that's an ios problem with the 5s, because with my dad's iphone 5 it does not happen!

Hope they will fix this!

It's definitely not an iOS 7.0.3 software problem as more like a 5s hardware problem. I have tried it out on an iPhone 5 ruining 7.0.3 and no flickering when coming out of multitasking. Not sure a fix can be done given the problem likely due to the hardware.

Yeah, of all of 5s, it do that from ios 7.0.1. so i think that the sistem is not well optimized yet.

I'm glad to know that it's just not my problem! All of the 5s that i've tried has this problem.

iOS 7.0.4 - nothing changed. Hads anybody asked someone from apple (genius bar) about the problem?

They told me that's a software error! Yesterday I've tried all the 5s in an apple store and it seems they all have this "problem"

So we have to wait for 7.0.5? I have the same issue, my phone just arrived today after 22 days of waiting, and this issue is quite a bit annoying...

Its especially visible with the Facebook and Photos App, do you also experience the same?

Also experienced this issue with my iPhone 5S. Even noticed that if multitasking in landscape mode, the flickering still happens in the status bar area (which in landscape mode is either of the sides of the screen). Kind of unsure if it's a software or hardware problem. Can't spot it on iPhone 5 or friends iPhone 5S'. Either way I sent my 5S to my carrier for repair/swap.

This issue is fixed with ios 7.1 beta. i'm trying it! 😉 we have just to wait the final release of the new software 😀

Did you upgrade or restore to the 7.1 beta? I still got the flicker after upgrading to the beta. Haven't tried a restore though.

Restored first as new iPhone, then reattore from an icloud backup!

in my iphone 5s also the screen stretched up a bit after returning from multitasking screen to home screen.
i had reloaded the software 2 times (7.0.4) but the the problem persists.
i went to the AASP and there the technician says that this is no issue for which the phone is to be replaced or repaired and describes it as phone is adjusting resolution. i dont believe that this is no issue as this issue is not there in any of my friend's 5s and so i believe it is a hardware issue.

i hope apple will look over it and get this problem rectified.
