This seemed to work for me (I was reluctant to sign out of iCloud on my MacBook Air as that was going to unsynch calendars and contacts - which can re-synch but I did not want the hassle):

From "Old Toad" on this thread:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/23350773#23350773

    Thanks, OT!

Do you have a Mac? If so  disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane

    Preview002.jpg

and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.

    Preview001.jpg

Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

If you don't have a Mac you need to pose your questions in the iCloud on my PC  community.

I just went to www.icloud.com and reset my icloud.  Had to turn off my two phones and ipad mini and then turn them back on.  Photos then synced to PC.

Does this mean I need to create a new apple id? I don't think I have an icloud.com id?

    Also...

Been to www.icloud.com, but there is nothing there relating to photostream:

Mail, Contacts, Calanders, Notes, reminders, find my phone, Pages, Numbers, & Keynote... no Photos.

Also no option (seemingly) to reset anything, or to turn anything off.

What did (slightly) work was to uninstall icloud from the PC completely, and to redownload & Install it.

It used a different folder called "icloud photos", and random photos have been downloaded to the PC, but not in any order, and certainly not all of them.

iphone/pc user....this has certainly been a major PIA as photostream "was" a major perk to this whole deal. i cant imagine the higher ups in apple arent reading these posts. WHAT ARE THEY WAITING FOR. ive tried every idea proposed thats come across this board, nothing has resolved this issue for me. i usually update to newer versions of ios without hesitation, shame on me for being hasty for i should be more cautious. can i get ios6 back?

I looked at reverting to ios6... It's only possible on a iphone 4 (not 4S or 5's), and even then it seems very dependent on having saved "SHSH Blob" (whatever that is) and having itunes older than 11.0.5; As if that isn't enough it involves something called "ifaith". It's "not without risk", so I won't be bothering myself.

However http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-to-downgrade-to-ios-6/ might frighten you into not trying it (it did me).

Has anybody found a workround? Notes I make in NOTES are always emailed to a seperate email (gmail) account, and they send everytime I make a change to a note or create a new one... Nothing similar for photos I suppose?

December 1st, still no permanent fix for this issue. Restarting the Mac and iOS devices only fixes the problem one time, if that, then it's the same issue. Disabling photostream, same thing, if it works at all it's only once.

Yes - I get that too - reloaded icloud (see above) - nothing has uploaded since the day I did it, when it uploaded about 55 random photos.

Found this on Apples FAQ's - are they having a laugh?

When do photos upload to My Photo Stream?

When you enable My Photo Stream on your devices, all new photos you take or import to those devices will be automatically added to your photo stream.

    • iOS devices: New photos you take are automatically uploaded to your photo stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. My Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections.
    • Macs: Any new photos you import to iPhoto or Aperture begin uploading automatically when you have a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Or you can change your iPhoto or Aperture preferences so that only photos you manually add to My Photo Stream are uploaded.
    • PC with iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later: Open a Windows Explorer window and under Favorites select iCloud Photos if you are using iCloud Control Panel 3.0 (or Photo Stream if you are using 2.0 to 2.1.2). Open My Photo Stream. Click the "Add photos" button. Select the photos to import to My Photo Stream, then click Open

I had an issue with my iPhone 4s not showing new pictures in My Photo Stream on the same iPhone. What I found out is that they don't appear until an iCloud backup is completed.  If i do a manual iCloud backup the photos I took appeared in My Photo Stream.

This thread -- lots of posts on similar issues and a few [very different] things that seemed to make some difference and then didn't...  Most all of which I have tried but, so far, no joy...

I'd like to add my post and narrow the issue just a bit.

Pictures taken on any of our iPhones and/or iPads are showing up in Photo Stream on all the other devices.

Its just the My Photo Stream folder on my PC that has stopped updating whether any of the devices are connected directly to the PC or just connected over the same wi-fi network..  I removed and reinstalled iCloud, accepting all of the suggested folder names -- no errors.

Just no longer populates with the pictures taken on any of the iPhones and/or iPads.  Pictures placed in the PC's upload folder do not get uploaded to the iCloud either -- never show up in any of the iPhone/iPad devices.

Does anyone know what all processes and/or services are required for the pictures to be transferred from iCloud to the PC associated with the same Apple ID?  Perhaps there's a more methodical way one can step through how the connection and transfer process should work and find where it isn't.

For what its worth, this is what finally worked for me.  Thanks to poster "Dean".

    =============================================================

I tried everything and this was the only thing that worked for me:

    1. Open Task Manager (ctrl, alt and delete) and end ApplePhotoStream.exe and AppltPhotoStreamDownloader.exe if they're running.
    2. Go to your Users folder and navigate to the following path: C:\Users\Dean\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MediaStream\  - Obviously my user folder is Dean but yours will be the user that you're logged into Windows as.
    3. Delete everything in that folder.
    4. log out of icloud, and then log in and re-activate the photos option
    5. it should start downloading again your photos

What worked for me was pretty easy.

If there are any photos in your My Photo Stream folder on the PC that you haven't already saved anywhere then Open the folder and safe the files somewhere on your PC.  The procedure below will sync your PC to iCloud and any old photos in My Photo Stream will be deleted when the PC, iCloud and all of your iOS connected devices are sync'd.

    For a PC.

    1.     Open iCloud Control Panel

    2.     Click the Sign out tab in the lower left corner.

    3.     Click Keep copy

    4.     If Outlook is open then save your work and allow Close Outlook and continue.

    5.     You will get a message that iCloud stuff is saved in Outlook and iCloud Photos are turned off.

    6.     Sign back into iCloud with your Apple ID.

    7.     Check the boxes to select the items you want to sync to your PC with iCloud and click Apply

    8.     Click Merge to merge bookmarks with iClould (if you checked that box).

It will download items from iCloud and tell you Setup is complete.Click Done and Close.

It will take some time to down load all your photos to My Photo Stream on the PC as well as any shared streams you may have.

There are 8 pages of people complaining about this issue and almost all of them have said that the fix you just mentioned does not work.  I've tried deleting all traces of iCloud off of my PC, then resetting the documents online, signing in and out of iCloud Control Panel, etc. and nothing has solved it.  It worked on my PC at home (Win8.1) I believe but my office PC (Win7 Pro) doesn't seem to catch on.  The best outcome I've experienced so far is that it loads up all of my shared galleries when re-installign iCloud/Photo Stream but it won't load any pictures back in to the actual Photo Stream folder.  When you follow the link in the upper right corner "Open This Folder" it takes you to another folder where it seems 4 or 5 of the photo stream photos made it in but they don't show up in the basic Photo Stream folder.  Furthermore, they're completely random; one or two recent ones and some old ones as well.

I'd love to know why no representatives from Apple have chimed in on this thread yet (from what I can see at a glance).  Hopefully we can remedy this soon.

    Another thing I noticed:

iCloud only keeps photo stream photos in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo will remain on your device until deleted.  Updating the iOS deletes everything from the phone; reconnecting to photo stream redownloads photos from the last 30 days (as older ones are no longer in iCloud).

To keep your photos permanently, import them to your computer while they are still in your camera roll (or save them to your camera roll from your photo stream album), as explained here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

I found that iCloud Photos in shared photo streams remained even though they were much older than 30 days.
