I finally thought that this was the solution, and so it is..... for the day you perform it, but not the next day, or any day after it seems. If it HAS worked for anybody, and is therfore still working, what did you do???

It seems several "solutions" being offered here are for the problem of pics not showing up on PC iCloud, but the original post is about pics not showing up in the cloud at all.  Only a couple of pics that I take ever make it to "My Photo Stream" on my phone and I can't manually add them.  Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Spent the whole day today trying to fix this - could not get photostream to update on my PC since around Nov 25.  Couldn't get iCloud to open either.  Uploaded new version of iCloud to PC, did everything the various entries suggest, but still can't get pics off phone to PC in photostream update.  I fixed this once before, a couple of months ago, but it stopped working again.

I probably really screwed things up by updating phone to ios7 hoping that would help.

You are right, this was the main and most exciting feature of iCloud, to have synch'd my iPhone, MacBook Pro, and PC Desktop photostreams.

Any suggestions are very welcome.  I'm not giving up my PC, and I am thinking of getting rid of my iPhone for something not Apple if I can get my pics to my computer with another kind of device.

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.

But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.

Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.

Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.

    Open the Users folder.

    Open your user folder

    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)

Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.

    Open the Installer Cache folder

In Details view sort on Name

Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013

Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.

When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.

I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.

For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

    Good luck…

My system runs on Windows 7, it has the iCloud comtrol panel 3.0. What worked for me was to disable the photo streaming feature, after which I reboted the computer. Using Windows Explorer I whent to "C:\Users\[name of registerd user that you're logged into Windows as]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MediaStream\" and deleted the entire content of that particular subdirectory. Using the iCloud control panel, I activated the photo stream feature, and voila, Photo Stream started working the way it should. It would upload and dawnload automatically once again

Thanks Luis.  I've tried several things that caused iCloud 3.x Photostream to appear to start working again only to find that (1) I wasn't getting all of the pictures, (2) there was no rhyme or reason to the the pictures that I was getting and (3) most of the time nothing would come across after a period of time.  I'll be interested in knowing how long your photo stream continues to work properly.

Btw Luis, I don't mean to seem ungrateful for you taking the time to describe what worked for you.  I do appreciate it.  In fact, I tried it.  Or at least tried to try it.

    1. I logged out of the iCloud control panel app.  I assume that's what you meant when you said you disabled Photostream.
    2. I went to C:\Users\<uname>\AppData\Roaming but there was no folder called MediaStream there.  However, I noticed that when I am logged into iCloud there is a folder called MediaStream but I can't delete it.

I've got another Win 7 computer here at the house.  I'll install iCloud 3.x on it [again] and try your process by staying logged in but unchecking the Photostream service.

    I'll let you know...

Right, you logged out of iCloud app. Reboot Windows, delete the subdirectory and log back into iCloud. The reason you can not delete the sub is becouse a couple of exe files from Apple are using it.  You need to power down your PC, power back up and then delete.

This is an example of what I was talking about. When I look for that directory it is there if I am logged into iCloud but does not show up if I'm logged out -- just the opposite of what you observe.

I installed iCloud 3.x (the current version) on another Win 7 PC I have that has never had iCloud installed before.  When it rebooted after the installation it brought up the control panel app asking me to log in.  I entered my apple id and password and it says that it experienced a serious server error and is unable to log in.  I check the apple services status online and there are no issues anywhere.  I rebooted and tried to log into iCloud again and got the same error message.  Not much I can do if it says there is a server error but doesn't tell me what the error is and the server itself reports no issues.

I don't know, maybe I can't have 2 PCs logged into iCloud.  Maybe I can't have two PCs with iCloud and each using a different version of the software.  Maybe, maybe, maybe...

    This shouldn't be so hard...

    Hi,

    I have tried:

Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it. Done

Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.

Already selected to show hidden folders.

    Open the Users folder. Done

    Open your user folder Done

Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder) No such folder exists...

Want to load version 2.1, but can't find it, and without the above folder, cant revert to it.

I'm sorry Dave.  I didn't mean to mislead you or waste your time.  I just confused two different procedures that I had tried.

If you have Windows 7, when you are in the C:\ folder and show hidden files is on you will see the ProgramData folder.  From there everything is as I described.

    Sorry again...

    Thanks for the amendment

I have now done as you suggested:

waiting to see what happens - the icon looks the same as it did before upgrading to version 3, so I suppose thats a start.

Well - I promised an update, and here it is...

In my photostream on the PC, I have image numbers: 4336, 4330, 4329, 4325, 4324, 4319 etc etc - well, you get the picture (which is more than my photostream is!)

Every now and then a few of the taken pictures get sent down to my PC.

I have an idea. Why not plug in the lead to the PC and download the pics like that.   Old Skool
