im j honestly not a fan of the all white thing.... id prefer the black background with white letters... is there any way i can change that for my own personal preference?

No. iOS 7 didn't come with user customizable backgrounds except for Wallpaper backgrounds. However, you may want to check Settings -> General (Text Size) and Settings -> General -> Accessibility to see what can be changed.
