I downloaded a brochure from a cruise website as a .do file, but can't open it in my OS 10.7.5 system. How do I open it? Tried to open up within Safari 6.0.5 or Firefox 24.0, but had no luck. Thanks for any help.

Hi! I know you submitted this question almost four years ago, but I didn't want to be that person who figured it out and didn't offer the solution.
Add the file to a Google Drive, and it'll automatically save it uncorrupted as a PDF.

And I didn't want to be that guy who doesn't want to acknowledge the fact your solution works like charm. All one needs to do is drag and drop the file into Google Drive and when you click on the file to view it, it opens as PDF. Print it or Download and it comes as PDF format. Great find and thanks a ton!
.do is not a common document file format. Do you mean .doc? You can open doc files in Word, Pages, or even just TextEdit. If the file is really .do, try changing its extension to .doc and trying one of those applications.

Actually, I believe there are web pages (server code) that end .do, but this would not be a properly saved document. If you'd like, post a link to the site and I'll see if it can be downloaded or converted to PDF.

Thanks for replying to my question, Matt. The file extension is .do. I tried opening the file as both a .do and a .doc file using Word & TextEdit but couldn't get a readable result. I got jibbersish using TextEdit, and this message using Word:
Is there anything else that you can think of that I might try? I may forward the file to a friend with a PC and ask her to send it back to me as a .pdf.

I'm afraid I didn't understand the info in the link you provided, Rudegar. It seems to refer to an error that occurs on a PC, so if that's the case, there would be no way for me to compensate for that error on my Mac, or am I misunderstanding? Thanks for the input, though.
Post the URL. You might have a corrupted copy; at least that's what I get from the error message.
