Everytime I exit itunes, I get this crash report ibn console only, no pop ups. I only posted a part of the error, the same everytime.

It seem to have started after getting iphone 5s????

I have done everything know. reinstalled it, reset all, still comes back?

Thanks

Yes. There is something wrong. Repair Permissions is saying files should be directories but they are not.

The actual permissions are correct.

For example:

ls -al /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AACEncoderConfig.nib

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 8781 Sep 21 15:38 /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AACEncoderConfig.nib

Repair Permissions says:

Permissions differ on “Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AACEncoderConfig.nib” ; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x .

I am having the exact same problem on both my iMac and MacBook Pro - exact same symptoms you describe and it does it with an iPhone or iPad connected. I also noticed that if I leave the iPad or iPhone connected for a long period (a couple of hours) then iTunes hangs with the spinning wheel.. There are lots of other threads that mention similar things too, one in particular where iTunes is restarting when quit - I think this is the same root cause but others are not checking the console logs so have not seen the relationship to this thread. I keep submitting crash reports to Apply so hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Likewise I already have the Supplement Update and iTunes 11.1.1 installed on both my machines and still getting the error. I even re-installed iTunes from the Apple website and nothing changed - same error. I guess that each setup can be very slightly different and so what fixes something for one does not for another and unless I do a completely clean install (which I am not going to try yet) then however mine is set up was not fixed. There are still a lot of complaints even after the 11.1.1 update so I imagine Apple will issue another fix pack soon.

Getting daily crashes with spinning wheel of death. I'm fully up to date on OS 10.8.5 and iTunes 11.1.1 (11)

BTW my library is on an external NAS in case that is a factor...

I've tried repairing permissions so will see if that helps...

It only seems to have happened after leaving iTunes running and then the Mac goes to sleep (i.e. spinning wheel needing a forced quit when it wakes up).

Likewise I get iTunes hanging after the Mac goes to sleep. This is in addition to the uxbmuxd crash when exiting iTunes. I thought they were related, but actually think not now. I am seeing both of these on 2 separate machines, one with my library on the machine itself and one with the library on an external NAS...

No workaround that I can find.
