I need to move my ITunes files and library to an external hard drive as my C drive is getting loaded. Nothing under the move files topic adresses that except to say it is not reccomended.

These instructions aren't for iTunes 11. Is there an updated KB? I was unable to find it myself.

Nevermind. I figured it out. For others using iTunes 11 on Windows, alt+f will bring up the file menu so you can follow along at step 9. By default, it's not visible to get to the "consolidate files" option.

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to the other diorve.

Hold Shift(WIndows or Option(Mac) and laucnh iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder you copied to the other drive.

It the same with iTunes 11 though I don't recommmend those instruction.

Keep everything together inside the iTunes folder (as in my 1st paragraph) is much cleaner & simpler.

ctrl B - show menus

ctrl S - show sidebar
