When attempting to add songs via manual sync, ITunes indicates "preparing to update files" and becomes stuck on this.

Somebody on twitter mentioned temporarily turning off their passcode before syncing and that seemed to help.

Same issue, with brand new iPhone 6 and latest iTunes. Also had same problem with iPhone 5S. Apple has gotten really bad with their software lately...
