Q: My iPod will not sync, even though it shows up in iTunes

Each time I try, I receive a message saying that "The iPod 'Jim's new iPod' [its name] cannot be synced.  The required file cannot be found."  As noted, the iPod is clearly connected, as it appears in iTunes.  I have syced this iPod with this MacBook Pro dozens of times in the past.  I have an iPod Classic 160kb, with over 100 GB free and updated to Software Version 2.0.4, and a MacBook Pro, updated to Mac OS 10.7.5 and iTunes 11.1.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

    Hello duneclimb

I found an article that pertains to that error and looks to be an issue with syncing photos to your iPod.

    iTunes: Unable to sync photos

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Regards,

    Hi Duneclimb,

I found this thread and the problem seems similar to mine so thought I would post here first.

I am getting the same thing when I connect my iPhone to my Macbook. Itunes recognizes the phone and starts the sync process. Starts going through it's steps, slows right down, then after a few minutes the 'progress bar' speeds to the end and completes the sync. But when I check my photo albums those on the phone have not synced to the updated content of the album on the laptop.

I kept retrying but to no avail. Hence, I thought removing the photo's altogether might then allow me to start again and reload from scratch. However, even though I uncheck the sync photos box on iTunes, once the phone has gone through the sync process the photo albums are still on the phone. So it seems like I can't even remove albums never mind add or update any of them?

In terms of software, the phone and iTunes are updated to latest versions. The laptop's OS X is not the lateset though, think it's Lion.

Please advise what I need to do to fix this annoying problem?

    Thanks,

    Rob
