When I've got my Messaging app open, and it's open to an ongoing conversation, I no longer receive the usual vibration you get with an incoming message when your conversation screen is already open? I recently updated to the iOS 7 software. Thank you.

Sounds like it's working as designed. You can go into Settings -> Notification Center, then check Messages to see how it is configured. If it's something you'd prefer weren't that way, feel free to send feedback on the topic to Apple at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Interesting, since here is a user looking for the opposite to happen on their iPhone 5s: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5370217

Did you ever get this figured out? Because I actually have the opposite problem. I would greatly prefer for there to not be vibrations when I'm looking at the conversation in the Messages app, but instead I constantly get vibrations when my phone is on silent (even when I'm actively typing to the same person).

If there's some setting you found to enable the state I'm in, I would gladly turn it off.
