I'm having a problem using my control centre and lock screen features!

Since I downloaded iOS 7, I cannot change a song without unlocking my iPod Touch (5th gen.) and opening the music app. I cannot change my songs using the feature on the lock screen or the control centre. How can I fix this?

Note: All other features work, other than changing or play/pausing songs. I can still adjust volume or place in the song, as well as use other features in the control centre such as the flashlight. I am only having a problem with music.
