Q: iOS 7 status bar

I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 but my status bar and control center aren't showing the translucent feature. They are just black. How do I fix that?

RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

Hi all,

hope by now you may have got the answer

but for those who are struggling like me I have the answer.

I am using iPhone 5s iOS 8.4 and the control bar turned grey. Tried everything even googled

Solution is : go to settings- accessibility - increase contrast - reduce transparency- exit settings

you will have your coloured control bar back
