Jan 17, 2014 12:32 AM in response to ray333by Suthran,I have a BMW 528i (2012 model). I had no problem with my iPhone 4s with iOS 7. However, when I replaced my phone with a new iPhone 5s with iOS 7, the bluetooth cuts off from time to time during a call. The bluetooth disconnects and more often than not, it connects back again after a few seconds.
Forgetting the devices on the car and the phone does not help. An intereting observation I made is that streaming music to my car is very stable over bluetooth. I therefore assume that the bluetooth cuts off only during a call.

Jan 17, 2014 1:48 AM in response to ray333by Suthran,I just carried out the following steps and it seems to have fixed my problem.
- Downloaded the latest software for my BMW car. Here is the link to the site - http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/navigation/bluetooth/bluetooth_software_update_ vin.jsp
- Copied the software into a USB drive, connected the drive to the USB port in my car and updated the software via iDrive.
- In bluetooth settings on iPhone, i selected the car and then pressed 'forget this device'.
- Removed the iPhone pairing from the iDrive settings in the car.
- Once again paired the phone with the car.
I will continue testing the connection and will report back if the problem comes up again.

Jan 21, 2014 8:15 AM in response to ray333by MHBCA,Have 2012 BMW 550. Just got 5s with iOS 7. Have tried all above suggested fixed. Nothing works. iPhone 4s and 5 continue to work just fine. The problem is not BMW. There is something changed on either 5s or iOS 7 that causing Bluetooth connection to drop. Hopefully Apple is working on a fix.

Jan 21, 2014 8:18 AM in response to MHBCAby Lawrence Finch,The problem is BMW. This never happens in my Toyota. 5S with iOS 7. And before I got the 5S it never happened with my 4S with iOS 7.

Mar 2, 2014 10:12 AM in response to ray333by dna_cali,Update:
I contacted BMW customer care a few days ago and they notified me that they are aware of this problem.
Although they didn't promise anything at all, at least it appears that it is on their radar...
I live in California and will try to return my Bimmer under a "lemon law" provision due to this safety defect that they cannot repair.
Frustrating!!

Mar 14, 2014 10:46 AM in response to ray333by Bella's Dad,The issue is synching your contact list with the car. Do the following before you turn on the car if you want to stop the problem. Go to Settings/Bluetooth and click on the car on the Bluetooth list that is the probelm. You can then turn off Sync Contacts. This will fix the disconnect problem, but you now have to dial every number because you have turned off the contact list and previous call memory for the car. This is the only thing that I have found that works.
Hopefully BMW or Apple can figure out the issue. My only conjecture is that my database is larger than what can sync with the BMW. Maybe that creates a problem.

Mar 23, 2014 5:28 AM in response to ray333by Jon Swartz,Has anyone been able to solve the problem with ios7 and BMW Bluetooth?
I have a 2011 528I.
My 5s still keeps dropping calls!
It is so frustrating.
I've deleted and reinstalled and nothing works.

Mar 23, 2014 5:52 AM in response to Jon Swartzby Suthran,I have successfully eliminated the Blutooth disconnection problem by doing the following:
- Forget the car telephone on the iPhone 5s bluetooth settings.
- Remove the iPhone 5s for the bluetooth list in the car's bluetooth settings.
- Pair the iphone with the car.
- Immediately go to bluetooth settings on the iPhone 5s and deselect the 'Sync Contacts' option.
Once the above steps are carried out, the bluetooth connectivity will not drop during calls. However, I miss having the ability to make calls by accessing phone contacts through iDrive. Calls have to be initiated through the phone, but I find it a small price to pay for having stable bluetooth connectivity during a call.
A majority of calls I usually made are by accessing the last called numbers from the jog dial in the steering wheel and the received calls list on the iDrive screen. I missed having these functions. To get these functions back without affecting bluetooth connectivity, I turned on the 'sync contacts' option on the iPhone, then immediatly deselected the 'sync all contacts' and 'sync favourite' options. Now I get the recently called list below the odometer and the received calls list on the center console screen.

Apr 11, 2014 10:52 AM in response to Suthranby Traveler61,I don't believe this is a BMW issues. I have the same problem with my Blueant Q2. All started after updating to IOS 7. Tried new Bluetooth. Same issue. Apple store claimed not to know of the issue bud said they had a lot of bugs in IOS7. Reloaded phone.. At first, it seemed to help, but then it started dropping again.

Apr 11, 2014 4:23 PM in response to Traveler61by ChrisJ4203,You might want to check on the firmware for your Blueant. I have the Blueant Q2 that I am using with an iPhone 5S running iOS 7.1. I have not had an issue with dropping calls. My son uses an iPhone 5S with a Blueant Q3, and has not had any call dropping issues either. You say you tried a new Bluetooth. Does this mean you had the Q2 replaced? Your problem is different from the vehicle issues described here. You mention reloading phone. Not sure exactly what that means. Are you saying that you restored the phone? Did you do this from a backup, or as a new device?

Apr 12, 2014 8:40 AM in response to ray333by Phil7g,I have same problem with 5s and a 2011 F10 BMW. I have found it drops Bluetooth if a call is made or received while the phone syncs with the car each time the ignition is switched on. If I wait 5 mins or so after starting the car before using my 5s, the Bluetooth seems stable?! Also never had this problem with 4s.
