How do I clean everything off my macbook so I can pass it along to someone else?

I want to clean my macbook of everything. Is there a simple way to do this. I want to pass this macbook on to someone else, but I need to rid of all things first. Thanks!

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

What to do before selling or giving away your Mac

In addition to the above:

  • Remove any Open Firmware password if you created one: Select Firmware Password in the Utilities menu in OS X Recovery.
  • Remove any partitions you may have created, such as for Boot Camp or similar purposes.
  • Give the new owner any discs that came with the Mac.
  • Un-register it in My Support Profile.
