my phone doesn't notify me when i have a message

If your phone is locked in iOS7 then the text messages will be silent. To un-silence them, unlock your phone. Sort of defeats the purpose of locking your phone, but, this is what is, not what should be.

Open ur notification center and confirm whether your message notifications are turned on.

My iPhone is locked and passcode protected, I still get the ringtone as well as see it on my locked screen.

Interesting, my notification is on and I get notification on an unlocked phone but not a locked phone.

Under Do Not Disturb (which is off BTW), the "Silence Notifications when locked" is checked.

go to settings> notification center,under messages

change the alert style to banners or alerts,

enable badge app icon,

enable show in notification centre and

enable show on locked screen

Only if DND is ON that this option takes effect.

All of those are set as you requested but when a text message is sent to my locked phone the still doesn't make a sound when the message arrives.

If you put Access w Apps ON in the Control center ten it works (via wife tech support)

I'm a physician so for this to be HIPAA compliant I need a sound to occur when the screen is locked but No text shoul appear since pt information could be viewed on a stolen phone. I need the sound alert so I know to look at a message. The phone must be locked for obvious reasons.

How do I set that up?

It would be nice to have a HIPAA button.

if your alerts work properly, you can disable the preview in settings>notification centre>messages and disable show preview.

this will alert you when there is a message, but wont show you the content.

My iPhone has been acting really strange since the last update. I am now using iOS 7.1.1, iPhone 4 but the phone is not letting me know when I have messages come in.

For example... my sms, my notifications, my emails and even my phone calls will not notify me when it is on locked screen... I have tried many, many different things that I have seen suggested on here but nothing is working.

Not only is it from my messages, but I have been missing calls as well because it is not ringing through.

Could you please tell me how I can get this fixed.
