iTunes 11 not recognizing my iPhone 4S?

I'm using Windows 8 and just updated to iTunes 11. When it didn't recognize my phone, I tried updating to iOS 7, restarting the phone, restarting the computer...NOTHING has worked.

This isn't like the people getting crashes--iTunes doesn't even know that the phone is connected at all, even though the computer recognizes it as a connected device. I can view the pictures on my phone via "My Computer," but iTunes > File > Devices is completely grayed-out as if there were nothing connected at all.

How do I fix this? I just made a new playlist using my computer and want to put it on my phone as well.

Alright, just got off the phone with apple technical support, and they walked me right through it. First I went to uninstall a program, and uninstalled itunes, apple software update, apple mobile device support, and bonjour in that order. After that I went back to the apple site to download itunes, and after it downloaded I plugged in my phone, and it showed right up. Now I'm not exactly sure which one i uninstalled after uninstalling itunes, but the lady said it had to be in the order she told me, but I forget. I honestly don't think it has to be in any particular order, just as long as you uninstall itunes first and bonjour last, along with the other two uninstalled in the middle, you should be ok. Anyways, I turned my windows firewall off for this whole process, just to make sure. Hope this helps...
