iPad new ios7 made my camera stop working

After downloading ios7 my camera doesn't work. I open it to take photos and the screen stays black save fore the buttons on screen that don't do anything when I touch them. I have already gone through general seeing to restrictions then camera and no luck there. I've even tried restarting the app several times and even restarting my iPad. I'm frustrated because this iPad isn't even a year old yet! I use my iPad for snapping photos of my artwork to share with family but it's not working at all, just black screen.

I would recommend backing up your ipad to your computer and then restoring your ipad. This will just give it a fresh start and get any bugs out

Here is an example of how to restore.

Nope, didn't work. FML. Going into the app, it still stays black. I just don't know what is going on anymore with it.

And you did the full restore? That was pretty quick. Did you reinstall your backup after the restore?

I'm still within a year old. Still have a warranty so I'm going into an Apple store to have them figure it out.

Yes, full restore. I don't procrastinate lol. Yes, reinstalled backup but as far back as I could. Still doesn't work.

Okay, so i reset and started up as 'a new ipad' and the camera works sort of. I can get it to take a photo of me in front of it but not out of the normal 'rear' camera. I click that little camera with the arrow circle icon to switch cameras and it just goes fuzzy and nothing happens, like it freezes.

So now I have a new problem?

At this point there isn't much you can do with the ipad 😟 I think taking it to the apple store is going to be your best solution.

Exact same problem with my ipad, ios7 installed today. It was causing problems under ios6 where front camera worked, but rear not. I thought this upgrade would set everything back to normal, but no. I see it's probably a waste of time to try anything else. Thanks for all the tests.

😟 It *****. I hope you go to the Apple store near you too. I'm going to see what they'll be able to do early next week. If they can fix it without replacing it, i'll post to let you know what they did.

Went to Apple today. Notified the employee assisting me of all the suggestions I tried. He fiddled and confirmed the camera isn't working. He said it's probably a hardware issue.

Mine was within warranty and is being sent off for replacement. Go to Apple. See what they can do. If you still have warranty then use it. I was worried id go in and it'd be something painfully obvious to fix that I just overlooked but even he couldn't figure it out for the life of him. Nonetheless, that's what is going on with mine. I should have a new one by Tuesday!
